What could be more beautiful for a wildlife photographer than capturing an adult male lion silhouetted against the rising sun? Backlit photos, taken with the sun in the frame (whether during sunrise or sunset), are the bane of many photographers. Personally, when the sun is not in the shot, I use the widest aperture (here f/4; my 180/400mm lens is not f/2., a low shutter speed (here 1/600 s), and the lowest possible ISO (here ISO 125). Then, in Lightroom, I bring out the shadows!
It is6:45 in the Mara.
